Ahhh, the humble swede! Or rutabaga as it’s known in the USA. Much loved by me as neeps with haggis and tatties on Burns Night.
Angela gave her recipe for preparing rutabaga puree to a newspaper in 1979. It seems a slightly odd recipe to share as really, there is nothing much to it. But as I got a lovely swede in my organic veg box (supermarket swede on the left, “mucky” veg box version on the right)
and I have pledged to make video demos of all Angela’s recipes featured in the Murder, She Cooked book, rutabaga puree it was! A video postcard follows for my beloved paid subscribers showing me chit-chatting about swede and showing you Angela’s method for cooking it.
I hope that you have this date in your diary - worldwide online watch party - everyone invited. More details will follow, for now, pop the date in your diary.

maybe we can make our own?
Our most recent special member Lorna chose to play Jessica’s niece, Victoria Griffin in our imaginary version of the series.
I play Eve Simpson…
