I have decided to take a day off work to fully celebrate the release of Cooking The Detectives on 1st July. I am going to dedicate a day to one of the cop shows featured in the book. I’ll watch an episode or two and cook the dish favoured by the star of that series. Probably having a little glass of champers too!
40 detective shows are celebrated in Cooking the Detectives and each chapter contains a signature dish from the kitchen of the actor that played the sleuth. Here’s the full list of the series that I feature - I wonder if any of your favourites are in here?
Dragnet, Colonel March of Scotland Yard, The Avengers, The Saint, Burke’s Law, Honey West, Ironside, Sherlock Holmes, Hawaii Five-O, McCloud, The Persuaders, Columbo, McMillan & Wife, Lord Peter Wimsey, The Streets of San Francisco, The Snoop Sisters, Kojak, Police Woman, The Rockford Files, Starsky & Hutch, Charlie’s Angels, Hart to Hart, Magnum, P.I., Nero Wolfe, Bergerac, Remington Steele, Cagney & Lacey, Miss Marple, Murder She Wrote, Miami Vice, Moonlighting, The Law and Harry McGraw, Inspector Morse, Poirot, Prime Suspect, Silent Witness, Midsomer Murders, Vera.
Here’s a taster of some of the recipes in store…
As I will be home alone, I don’t want to cook anything huge so here are the dishes I fancy that are good for one.
Votes please and whichever one comes out top, I will make and watch an episode of the corresponding show while I scoff it! Then I will share the chapter from the book and the corresponding recipe with y’all next month…
Who will it be?
I’m excited to see who comes out top.
